After all, even if it’s the tiniest of markets it will have to compete for proper attention in this hi-tech world? For your book to be able to compete in a world like ours today, you must target a niche market (people to sell your book to) interested in your book.
The vast diversity of topics possible to write about always amazes me. And as I get older and learn more, I realize how much more I have to learn about any given topic. That’s lifelong learning at its best.
Offer a few chapters for free to give your readers an overview of what to expect from your book. This technique works very well. You simply allow people to download sample chapters from your e-book. If a visitor clicks on the widget, they are shown a “The Story Behind the Book” blurb while the sample loads. This is an ideal spot to put a paraphrased differentiation statement. It will prime the reader for the sample. It should be a paraphrased version because the reader may have already read the primary statement on the website before clicking on the Bookbuzzr widget.
Don’t be too modest. You do not have to be the best in the world at something to be an expert – you need to know more or have more skills than the people you are supporting. If you have evidence of this then be prepared to tell people about it – your story is what marks you out as an expert.
Business these days is all about networking, and a freelance writer must act as a business owner would. To grow your career and income, you need to get your name out there. The best ways to do this include setting up a professional website for yourself as well as a few professional social profiles. Then get into discussions on these social sites and forums which are helpful and help people remember you when they need content. Do not skip this step if you plan to be a professional writer!

With heightened awareness, the writer will pick up on all kinds of wonderful, stimulating things that others miss. You will suck up ideas without consciously trying. Sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and things we touch suddenly affect us deeply. You could overhear a snippet of a stranger’s phone conversation, and.Boom!.a fabulous story idea pops into your head.

Because what they do is the same thing as what inspires them, they end up excelling in ways that other people simply fail to do, simply because other people don’t have such awareness of their own strengths.
