In order to begin driving lessons, a person must first obtain Learners' License.
The following documents must be presented to the Transport Department order to apply for the Learners' License:
- 2 photos
- Cypriot ID
In the event that the person applying for the Learners' License is not a Cypriot citizen but citizen of another EU member state,
the following documents must be presented instead:
- 2 photos
- Residential permit issued for Cyprus (ie Yellow Slip)
- Passport copy or ID
- Documentation which proves that the person is a resident of Cyprus for over 6 months (i.e. Employer's confirmation letter /
or letter from the University or a contract from leasing an apartment or house /or copy of utility bill issued from CYTA
/ MTN / Electricity Authority of Cyprus)
For persons who are non-EU citizens, the above items must be presented together with the Pink Slip instead of the Yellow Slip.
Upon presenting the above documents to the Transport Department, the persons will be tested on the traffic signs,
overall road code and conduct. If successful in passing the traffic signs test, the lessons can commence to obtain the Drivers'
License.
The overall cost for obtaining the Learners' License, is approximately 40 EUR
